What to Expect
Your first visit is about understanding what is going on, what you need, and how we can help.
At Pain & Wellness Center of North Fulton, we take the time to listen before we treat. Whether you are coming in with back pain, neck pain, headaches, an injury, muscle tension, or a concern that has been building for years, your care starts with a clear conversation and a thorough evaluation.
You will not be rushed through a standard routine. Dr. Regina Syed and our team look at how your spine, joints, muscles, and movement patterns are working together so we can recommend care that is appropriate for your body and your goals.

Your First Visit
Your first appointment is designed to give us a complete picture of your health and help you understand your next steps clearly.
Before You Arrive
After booking your appointment, you will receive new patient paperwork by email. Completing this ahead of time helps us understand your health history, current symptoms, previous injuries, and what you are hoping to improve.
You can schedule online or call the office directly. Our front desk team will help make the process simple from the start.
Consultation
Your visit begins with a one-on-one conversation about what brought you in.
We will talk through where you are feeling pain or restriction, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and how it is affecting your daily life. This may include work, sleep, exercise, family responsibilities, or simple movements that have become uncomfortable.
The goal is to understand your story, not just your symptoms.
Examination
Next, Dr. Syed will perform a physical exam based on your concerns. This may include posture, range of motion, joint movement, muscle tension, orthopedic testing, neurological checks, and functional movement.
We are looking for the source of the problem, including areas of restriction, misalignment, muscle guarding, nerve irritation, or movement patterns that may be contributing to your pain.
Imaging, If Needed
Not every patient needs X-rays or imaging on the first visit. When imaging is appropriate, we will explain why it is recommended and what we are looking for.
X-rays may be used to better understand spinal alignment, degeneration, disc space changes, structural concerns, or injury-related findings. If advanced imaging such as an MRI or CT scan is needed, we will guide you through that recommendation.
Your Findings and Care Plan
Once your consultation and exam are complete, we will explain what we found in clear, straightforward language.
You will learn what may be causing your symptoms, what treatment options make sense, what kind of progress is realistic, and what your role will be in supporting recovery. Your care plan may include chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, SoftWave Therapy, spinal decompression, home exercises, or other recommendations based on your needs.
First Treatment
If treatment is appropriate that day, and there are no contraindications, care may begin during your first visit.
Your treatment may include a chiropractic adjustment, gentle mobilization, soft tissue work, physiotherapy, or another approach suited to your comfort level and condition. We will always explain what we are doing and why before we begin.
Before you leave, you will receive guidance on what to expect afterward, including soreness, activity recommendations, stretches, ice or heat, and when to follow up.

Follow-up Visits
Follow-up visits are usually more focused and treatment-based.
Because we have already completed your initial consultation and examination, these appointments are centered on helping you improve, tracking your progress, and adjusting your care plan as your body responds.
During follow-up visits, we may continue with chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, SoftWave Therapy, spinal decompression, corrective exercises, or a combination of treatments. Each visit is tailored to how you are feeling that day and how your condition is progressing over time.
Many patients notice early changes within the first few visits. Some feel relief quickly, while others improve more gradually as mobility, muscle tension, posture, and daily function begin to change. Mild soreness after the first one or two treatments can be normal, similar to how your body may feel after a new workout.
Our goal is not just to help you feel better for a moment. It is to help you understand your body, move with more confidence, and make steady progress toward lasting relief.
